Wednesday, March 11th IMDEA Water staff attended to the LIFE+ REMEMBRANE (@Remembrane) project institutional visit from the Racons desalination plant located in Denia. Participants shared the end-of-life reverse osmosis membrane regeneration experiences that they have done until this moment. As opposed to LIFE+ TRANSFOMEM project (@life-transfomem), which will transform end-of-life reverse osmosis membranes into recycled membranes for low-pressure filtration process like nanofiltration and ultrafiltration, REMEMBRANE reuses again regenerated membranes into reverse osmosis processes.
During the act, they also had the chance to meet the consortium members and other LIFE project staff, LIFE RELEACH (@LIFE_RELEACH), that reuses some of the REMEMBRANE project membranes for leaching process form landfills.

5rd Febrary Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería) received to master students of hydrology and Hydric Resources Management from Alaclá university (UAH) and Rey Juan Carlos university (URJC).
The Master program completes the student formation in “Water Technology topic” with a visit of the Cuevas del Almanzora desalination plant, which is belonging from a agriculture community and it is managed by the U.T.E SADYT and Talleres and Grúas González. Although this workshop is usually carrying out annually in order to go in depth understanding about brackish water treatment process, as a part of the European project LIFE TRANSFOMEM, the students assist to a specific session developed by some project’s researchers. During the session, they could see end-of-life reverse osmosis membranes and the place where some pilot plants are going to be used in the pilot period, which is going to be start next summer.
