Mercedes Calzada from Valoriza Agua (Sacyr group) talked about Life-Transfomem project within Suouth Summit17 Event. South Summit is the Leading Event from the South, connecting the most innovative entrepreneurs with the most important investors in the world and the corporations seeking to improve their global competitiveness through innovation.
Jorge Senán, IMDEA Water researcher, gave an oral presentation entitled "Approaching Membrane Technology to Circular Economy" within the 10th World Congress of Chemical Engineering. This work is a part of the financial and economical study of the Life-Transfomem proyect. Specifically, Jorge is studying the environmental impact of the reverse osmosis recycling process (active and passive methodology) through life cycle assesment approach. Moreover, he presented also a poster entitled "End-of-life Reverse Osmosis membrane valorization as Ultra-filtration and Nano-filtration under an economical and financial sight" . Congratulations!!!
Life-Transfomem staff (Eloy García and Raquel García) assisted at the Sixth De Nora Symposium (http://www.denora.com) in Milan (27-28th September).
Raquel García have shown the latest experimental results related to the validation of the recycled membraes for seawater pretreatment and brackish water treatment. This results, together with the financial study had been shown during a poster session. She could discuss with De Nora staff and other international researchers such as Profesor Viatcheslav Freger (Tecnion Israel Institute of Technology), Cristina Sáez Jiménez (Universidad de Castilla la Mancha), Hélène Budzinski (University of Bordeaux) or Paola Calza (University of Turín). Totally, 85 international people attended this Event.
Moreover, Eloy García has shown the main IMDEA Agua researcher lines in a oral presentation and Amanda Prado has shown a poster related to iMETland project.
Thank you to De Nora company for inviting us to assit!!!

The team of LIFE + 13 ENV / ES / 000751 TRANSFOMEM will participate in the eighth European night of the researchers, in the Royal Botanic Garden Juan Carlos I of the Campus of the University of Alcalá with the experience "Can a residue produce water?"
The desalination of water through membranes is widespread throughout the world and Spain is the 4th country in installed desalination capacity.
During the European Night of the Investigators of Madrid you will see what a membrane is and how it is manufactured in laboratory scale. In this expereician, you can learn how OI membranes work and also that some of these membranes, once used, can be recycled for other uses.
